Shelley recently produced another movie for the Hallmark Channel which premiered last December 2nd. It was Christmas in Evergreen; and it starred Ashley Williams, Teddy Sears, Holly Robinson Peete and Barbara Niven, to name a few. The movie is about a veterinarian (Williams) who wishes on a snow globe that she would have the most romantic Christmas in her life. If you can find the movie, watch it! It's good wholesome entertainment.

Shelley appeared in many issues of Vogue during her tenure as a Supermodel. In the mags October 1974 issue, she appeared on the spread called "The Glamour of Gold" where she modeled simple seasonless evening wear in black with touches of gold.

She modeled a black gown that was perfect for big evenings. It was a long, soft, slinky number with a blouson top and tiny string straps by Shannon Rodgers for Jerry Silverman. A golden belt, some gold jewelry and a sliver of gold sandals finished her look. She looked perfect for those big formal holiday evening gatherings.

She also modeled a look for those more casual evenings, of course in black as well. She wore a shirt in black jacquard crêpe de Chine over a pair of evening twill trousers which were available at Bonwit Teller. She also wore a black chiffon scarf by Hermes under the collar. Gold accessories around her neck and wrists as well as golden sandals finished her look. And Shelley looked sensational.

Shelley attended the Unveiling of a Serigraph of Senator Ted Kennedy's painting Hyannis Port Compound in November of 1987. It was a dinner party as well as a benefit for the Very Special Arts and was held in Jimmy's Restaurant in Beverly Hills, California. Shelley was escorted by her future husband director Harry Winer.

One of Shelley's first ad spreads came out during her first year of modeling, in 1965, for Celanese Contemporary Fibers. With the theme "how to dress for your boyfriend", she wore fashions that was sure to please any young lady's main man (so retro). To please foreign diplomat Dan, Shelley donned an evening look by Jovi's that had a new slant neckline for the holidays that year. She modeled a sleeveless white top with lace and satin detailing on the neckline over a mocha-colored long skirt with a modest slit on the side. Matching pumps finished her look. She also sported a beehive hairdo which was very popular and chic in the 1960s. And Shelley looked like the perfect arm candy for any foreign diplomat.

Recipe for the Holidays 2
Shelley's recipe for Green Apple Pie
In the late '70s, Shelley bought a farm in upstate New York and renovated it herself. There, she smoked fish; she grew vegetables, flowers, herbs and roots; she pressed her own cider; she made her own preservatives jams, jellies and chutneys; and she baked her own bread and pies, a joy to her. She was and is fond of baking apple pies and had shared her recipe for baking Green Apple Pie in 1980, a great recipe to use for the holidays.

Saks Fifth Avenue is a high-end department store located in Manhattan, New York City, that sells luxury goods. In the Folio Collections: Saks Fifth Avenue Signs of Spring and Summer 1973 catalog, she appeared in the spread called "Fire Up Your Game", she modeled sports outfits available at Saks Women's Active Sportswear Collections. She wore an acrylic bouclé knit tennis outfit that had striped detailing on the chest. A sportswatch and matching headband finished her look. And Shelley looked fab for that summer season.

Glamorous New Season

1979 was a new era for the hit TV series Charlie's Angels. Supermodel Shelley Hack joined Jaclyn Smith and Cheryl Ladd to form Charlie's new glamorous detective team, Charlie's Angels Mach 3. Of course, the fashions they wore for the season was the very latest of the era. Five different sets of promotional pics were taken wherein the Angels were garbed in 1. satin robes, 2. skin tight spandex pants, 3. casual outfits, 4. evening gowns by Nolan Miller and the most glamorous thing any woman could ever wear at the time, 5. fur (PETA wasn't in existence yet). Shelley, Cheryl and Jaclyn donned fur coats, high heels and nothing else in one set of promotional pics. They were all sexy and sensational, as the Angels should be.

She modeled evening pajamas, a long T-shirt and fluid pants in jersey, by Frances Henaghan. A gold-flecked scarf, a belt with a strip of snakeskin, a Van Cleef & Arpels gold watch, a gold evening clutch and golden sandals finished her look. Shelley looked every inch a glamorous sophisticate.

To please artist Lance, Shelley donned a day-to-evening woman's suit by Camelon, a two-piece ensemble made up of a suit jacket with satin-like collars and cuffs (as well as a matching belt) and a skirt which ended just above the knee. Matching textured hose and peek-a-boo pumps finished her look. And Shelley looked like a an inspiration to any artist.

Shelley appeared in many catalogs for JCPenney. In the JCPenney Christmas 1972 catalog, she appeared in the spread called "Individualists Wear Penney's Young Look Sleepwear" where she modeled hip sleepwear for misses. She wore the Long Peasant-Style Gown, a scoop-neck pull-on-style sleeping gown with raglan sleeves. It had an elasticized neck, cuffs and back and self-ruffled hem. Rickrack trim was applied to it for an apron effect. Shelley looked lovely and ready for bed.

Shelley appeared in the TV movie Kicks in 1985, starring alongside Soap Superstar Anthony Geary. She played Maggie Pierson, a college professor addicted to sort of the thrill of the chase or, as the title says, kicks. She meets her match in Martin Cheevers (Geary), a wealthy businessman with a mysterious past. But their thrills gradually turn into chills as Cheevers ups the anti as they go along. Maggie goes along for the ride as long as she could and they end up in Alcatraz. How far would she really go for mere kicks? Watch it and find out. The telefilm has been released on VHS and DVD and the alternate titles for it are Paholaisen Kierre (Finlnd), Gioco Tragico (Italy), Nervenkitzel (West Germany) and Destination Alcatraz (West Germany as well).

A matching headband, white fishnets and pale blue pumps finished her look. And Shelley looked like a cure for writer's block.

Shelley immediately jumped into theater-acting when she left Charlie's Angels via the play Vanities by Jack Heifner, alongside Meredith Baxter -Birney and Annette O' Toole. Staged at the Westside Playhouse in Los Angeles, the play was filmed on stage for HBO's Standing Room Only. "I don't know how I got the guts to go right into a play immediately after leaving the series," Shelley said. But her gamble paid off. Shelley won a critical acclaim for her role.

Shelley appeared in many brochures and leaflets during her tenure a Supermodel in the 1970s. In 1971, she appeared on the cover of the Columbia-Minerva leaflet called Chill Chasers. It contained "bright touches to warm gay spirits from top to toe". Shelley modeled design number CC-5, a cable car cap, which was perfect for the coming cold weather. Shelley, of course, looked sensational.

Shelley became one of Charlie's Angels in 1979, taking over the slot vacated by Kate Jackson. From then on, she became one busy actress/supermodel. Aside from her Angels schedule (Daily, she's up at 5 am for hair and makeup at 6 and is back in bed by 9:30 pm.), she also had her Revlon Charlie obligations to fulfill; so her time was divided between the east and west coasts. But Shelley was and is a trooper. She knows that hard work pays off.

In the spread called "Clever is the Password to Crochets", she modeled fashions that were perfect for winter evenings that year. Sweaters with the loving-hands look of crochet and matching pants were the choice for that season - and, of course, in soft pastels.

Shelley became one of Charlie's Angels in 1979; and was immediately hounded by the paparazzi. Magazines put her on their cover, and writeups about her were everywhere. In March 1980, Co-ed magazine said Shelley made "glamour and self-confidence look easy"; and, of course, they were pertaining to her Charlie perfume commercials and print ads. They also said she made "crime-solving detective work seem just as simple."

Shelley was and is THE quintessential Charlie Girl. It was her image that sparked the imagination and inspired women (and men as well) all around the world. Her glamour, self-confidence and fabulousness just leapt out of television and print ads. After the initial commercial she did with Bobby Short, she appeared in a slew of other commercials for the brand. So far, seven of them can be viewed on YouTube.

Shelley was one of the unforgettable beauty icons of the 1970s. In 1978, Mademoiselle magazine said, 'Shelley's brand of beauty is all-American and wholesome; you just like her." The mag added "Shelley projects in photographs: like a '60s cheerleader all grown up." She had a smile that could light up a room and a presence that grabbed people's attention. But, to add to Mademoiselle's assessment, Shelley also had an unselfconscious sexiness to her, as seen in those Charlie perfume she made.

At A Play

Shelley watched the October 1981 performance of Mike Burstyn in the play Barnum at the St. James Theater in New York. Mike Burstyn succeeded Jim Dale in the title role that very night. Barnum is a musical based on the life of showman P. T. Barnum. Other attendees were Tony Bennett and Theodore Bickle (who played Peter Wycnski in the 1st season Charlie's Angels episode "Angels on a String").
Chenille and Fur

Shelley appeared in many spreads throughout Seventeen magazine's November 1965 issue. In the spread called "Chenille is the Password", she modeled fashions that were perfect for winter that year. From helmets to sweaters, as long as they had "pussycat textures", they were in.

Shelley modeled a practical but fashionable option to wear in the slopes, a furry helmet. Her checkerboard print fur helmet was a perfect compliment to her black turtleneck and crisp white coat ensemble. Shelley looked stunning.
