Shelley along with Kate Jackson, Farrah Fawcett, Jaclyn Smith, Cheryl Ladd and Tanya Roberts were all part of the cast of the phenomenal hit TV series Charlie's Angels which originally aired from 1976 to 1981. The TV series was one of the most ground-breaking and popular shows to ever hit television and was loved all around the world. Fans couldn't get enough of the Angels even after the series was cancelled and went off the air; so much so that years after it ended, fans still wanted to know what was going on with each of them. Writeups about the Angels would pop up here and there through the years; and updates on their careers, lives and loves would appear. Two years after the show was cancelled, the Angels were "...back on Cloud Nine." By January of 1983, Kate had done the controversial feature film Making Love. Farrah received critical acclaim for her performance in the TV drama Murder in Texas. Jackie received a Golden Globe nomination for her acting in the TV movie Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy. Cheryl was set to star in the teleflick The Grace Kelly Story. Shelley received critical praise for her work in the play Vanities and was set to star in the Martin Scorsese's The King of Comedy with Robert De Niro. And Tanya Roberts appeared on Playboy, had starred in the cult classic film feature The Beastmaster and was set to star in Hearts and Armour. The Angels were all flying high and still on cloud nine.
