a closeup of Shelley from an ad
for Main Street, 1978
Shelley began modeling in 1964 during her teens, during her summer vacations. After finishing her schooling, Shelley signed on full-time at her modeling agency, Ford Models Inc., and eventually became one of the Supermodels of the era. In 1978, she appeared in ad for Main Street which featured the Ballerina blouse. It was a top with a flourish all its own. It had a fullness falling from the gathers at the neck, continuing to become full sleeves that gathered on to dainty buttoned cuffs. The romantic-looking blouse, which buttoned down at the front, came in dreamy cloud colors like white, pale blue, pale peach and lavender. A pair of jeans finished her fabulous but casual look. Shelley was Supermodel gorgeous as always.
