Simplicity The Fashion Magazine for Women Who Sew was a booklet the Simplicity Pattern Company came out with to showcase their latest patterns. The Simplicity Pattern Company had been manufacturing sewing patterns since 1927, giving fashionistas on a budget and sewing aficionados the ability to create clothes in a reliable manner. The booklet featured the latest patterns Simplicity had come up with at the time. It also showed readers what they could do with them and how to play around with them by using fabrics and trims to personalize the fashion must-haves featured in its pages.

In the spread called "If You're A Modern Miss," Shelley wore Simplicity Pattern 9325, a crop top and pants ensemble for the young miss. The top-stitched sleeveless crop top had a low round neckline, an elastic casing at the lower edge and a butterfly applique. The hip-hugger pants had slightly flared legs. Flat sandals and a matching bangle finished her look. Simplicity Pattern 9387, a hippie-style shoulder bag with appliques and fringes, was the perfect match for her outfit. She also wore Simplicity Pattern 9275, a mini-dress. It had a high round neckline, contrasting short set-in sleeves, a back zipper and a patch pocket. She wore it with Simplicity Pattern 9386, a stylish belt. A scarf around her ponytail, a gold choker and a fancy bangle finished her look. And Shelley looked young, modern and fabulous in both outfits.
