and the Charlie Collection, 1977
Shelley was THE quintessential Charlie Girl and appeared in many, many ads for the brand. In 1977, she appeared in a newspaper ad for Charlie called "Charlie's Mirror Image." It was for a promo at Prange's (a department store chain that began in Wisconsin) that offered a regular-and-magnifying mirror (back-to-back on a flexible goose stand) valued at $23.50 for just $5.50 with any $5.00 purchase from the Charlie collection - a collection of Charlie's Fresh New Makeup, Lashiest Mascara and Concentrated Perfume Spray.

The ad also encouraged interested customers to enter Prange's Charlie Snowmobile Drawing contest... and win the "Charlie Cat," an Arctic Cat Lynx 2000 which was a quiet and powerful snowmobile. Released during the 1977-78 shopping season, the "Charlie Cat" was a snowmobile designed for the fashionable set. It was a joint venture between Arctic Enterprises, Inc. and Revlon who both believed that snowmobiling was an in-fashion sport that generated appeal across a broad section of American consumers. A number of specially-decaled "Charlie Cats" were to be given away. With no purchase needed, interested parties could enter and win any of the five snowmobiles that were made available to Prange's for the promo. And, of course, Shelley appeared in the ad, Charlie Girl gorgeous as ever.
