Shelley appeared in the Simplicity Young Ideas Catalog in 1972. The catalog featured fashions readers could make themselves - young and up-to-date fashions. She appeared in many spreads throughout the catalog and one of them was called "Dresses Are In! Sparkling The Fashion Scene," which featured above-the-knee length summer dresses that could be worn from day to night, from sunny mornings to warm evenings.

Shelley wore Simplicity Pattern 9885 - a super simple mini-dress. It had a halter neckline, an empire waist, of course, an above-the-knee hemline. It was trimmed near the hem with a floral-patterned ribbon. Matching flat sandals finished her look. A matching clip and a thin bangle bracelet accessorized her look. She also wore Simplicity Pattern 9879 - a mini-dress and bag combo. The simple-to-sew dress had a Mandarin collar and patch pockets. A pattern for a simple round snap-fastened shoulder bag was also included. A cute headscarf and open-toed footwear finished her look. And Shelley looked fabulous and sparkling in both summer dresses.
