In the late '70s-early '80s era, blondes were so popular that being brunette was almost sacrilege. In April of 1980, Movie Mirror Plus TV magazine put the Hollywood blonde bombshells of the moment on their cover (namely Shelley Hack, Cheryl Ladd, Dolly Parton, Olivia Newton-John, Farrah Fawcett, Susan Anton and John Schneider) with the question "Are The Blondes Taking Over?" I'm sure Victoria Principal, Pam Dawber, Lynda Carter and Erik Estrada (also on the cover) said, "No way."
