Shelley appeared on many covers and spreads for The Simplicity Pattern Company. The company had been manufacturing sewing patterns since 1927 and aided fashionistas on the budget as well as sewing aficionados in creating and sewing the latest fashions in a reliable manner. Consequently, they came out with books, magazines, booklets, leaflets etc. for their avid followers. Shelley appeared on many of their pattern packages - as well as covers and spreads for their book, magazines and booklets.  In 1972, she modeled a tie pattern that could be made for both men and women. The call for women's lib was at an all-time high and unisex garments were becoming a common thing. Worn with a mannish but soft shirt and slacks combo, Shelley made her tie look look smart and chic.
