Bridesmaids Telefilm

In 1989, Shelley appeared in the TV movie Bridesmaids along with Sela Ward, Brooke Adams and Stephanie Faracy. It was about a group of childhood friends who reunite at their childhood town to attend the wedding of a fifth friend. As they prepare for the ceremony, they rediscover their friendship, reveal their secrets and help each other find peace and happiness. The telefilm was a staple on cable TV in the 1990s. It's a very pleasant watch and is highly recommended.

Misses' Jumper

Shelley appeared on many package covers for Butterick's See & Sew pattern line. In 1977, she appeared on the cover of pattern no. 5843, a jumper for young misses. The semi-fitted sleeveless jumper had a V-neckline, an applied shaped bias front yoke, pockets in side seams and a self-tie belt. It had a back zipper and its skirt fell below mid-knee. It could be worn on its own or over matching shirt or blouse. Shelley looked fab it it.

Cutter to Houston Pilot 16

Shelley's second foray into series TV was Cutter to Houston. It was about three young doctors from the world-famous Texas Medical Center in Houston who were recruited to run a small hospital in the fictional rural town of Cutter, Texas. Jim Metzler and Alec Baldwin played the other two doctors. Jim played idealistic GP Dr. Andy Fenton, who grew up in Cutter and is glad to be home. Alec played internist/ladies man Dr. Hal Wexler, who is getting through his probation, having been relegated to Cutter for being a little too fast and free with his prescriptions. And Shelley played Dr. Beth Gilbert, an ambitious surgeon on temporary assignment in Cutter and aspires to be a heart surgeon in Houston.

To continue, Hal practices his baseball moves with Andy. He tells Andy he'll do what it takes to win Sally. Mayor Warren Jarvis arrives and interrupts them; he came over to talk to Hal. The mayor knows about Hal's probation and warns him. Later, Hal goes over to the Tollhouse's farm to talk to Sally. She's still upset about the incident at the bar. Hal comes clean and tells her everything, including his probation. Sally is unimpressed and Hal walks away.

Glamorous New Angel

Shelley rose to superstardom in 1979 when she joined the cast of Charlie's Angels. Her casting dominated entertainment news around the world and her image appeared everywhere. In December that year, she appeared in the cover of Los Angeles magazine. As Charlie's most glamorous Angel, she was decked in the most glamorous item of clothing at the time, fur. For the cover, she wore a Russian lynx coat by Edwards-Lowell over a fabulous evening gown by Karl Lagerfeld for Chloe. A necklace (with a ruby pendant) and earrings set by Kazanjian Jewels finished her look. A stuffed toy reindeer around her arm added a touch of whimsy to the cover. And Shelley looked like one fabulously glamorous Angel indeed.

Shelley was one of Hollywood's most glamorous stars in 1980. She was a known clotheshorse in New York when she was just a Supermodel; but now that she was in Hollywood, she was one of the best-dressed stars around. In 1980, she attended the event The Love Boat Honors Helen Hayes held at the Beverly Hills Hotel in Beverly Hills, California. She arrived in a gold form-fitting backless evening gown with a halter top. Simple gold earrings and a gold-colored evening clutch finished her look. With her makeup kept to a minimum and her hair blown straight, Shelley glowed in glamor.

Sophisticated Supermodel

Shelley appeared in many ads throughout the 1960s and 1970s. In 1972, she appeared in an ad for Brenner Couture. She wore an original sable brown and white printed Eleanor Brenner cocktail dress. The sophisticated dress had a pointed collar, long sleeves, a matching belt and a full knee-length skirt. The collar and wrists were in a white fabric. A dark hose, evening footwear and gold earrings finished her look. With her hair newly shorn to a bob, Shelley looked every-inch the sophisticated Supermodel she would later become.
