For their September 18, 1979 issue, US Weekly came up with a list of the "Hits & Flops on the Tube" for the fall TV season. Among the "hits" on their list was Charlie's Angels which had a new Angel onboard, Shelley Hack. Shelley, according to the writeup, was the new Farrah Fawcett, because "in terms of media hype, fan hysteria and gossipers' hearsay", she was receiving as much as Ms. Fawcett was. Plus, the September 12 premiere of Shelley's Charlie's Angels debut episode finished at no. 1 in the Nielsen ratings. It looked like the series was in for another great season.
