THE Quintessential Charlie Girl

Let's take a another break from the Cutter to Houston pilot episode, another commercial break that is; and look into Shelley's Charlie perfume commercials. Shelley was and always will be THE Quintessential Charlie Girl. She embodied all the ideals of the brand. She was independent, bright, chic and confident. She catapulted the brand (as well as herself) to iconic status when she began endorsing it. No wonder she was THE Charlie Girl for a very long time - for almost seven years, in fact. She appeared in many Charlie perfume print ads as well as many Charlie perfume commercials. Below are eight of the commercials she was did for the brand. You can find them all on YouTube. And, of course, since Shelley was so iconic as THE Charlie Girl, a commercial paying homage to her iconic turn as the Revlon Superstar Model was created in the late 1980s. A Charlie commercial with Linda Evangelista as Charlie Girl was made in the 1989. It featured Linda and a clip of Shelley from her very first Charlie perfume commercial in 1976. A modeling icon paying homage to another modeling icon in an iconic advertising campaign. Wow!
