Shelley's third stab at series TV was Jack and Mike. It was about a star journalist, Jackie Shea, who was married to a famous restaurateur, Mike Brennan, and who was trying to find time for both her work and her man. The series was filmed on location in Chicago. Shelley loved doing Jack and Mike. She loved the premise of the show and how it dealt with the problems women at the time were facing - finding a good balance between work and family life. Women's Lib was a thing of the '70s; and now in the '80s, women were faced with the situations that resulted from that liberation. Shelley herself was one of those women.
