Shelley appeared on many ads for Penneys in the 1960s and 1970s. In 1971, she appeared in the Penneys' ad with the tagline "Looks Like an Indian Summer!" which featured beachwear inspired by American Indian design elements. Shelley wore a two-piece bikini in rawhide which dried in a flash. Her outfit was accessorized with Indian accessories. Shelley looked stunning in her Indian-inspired beachwear.
