Shelley in a Japanese movie flyer
for If Ever I See You Again
Shelley's first leading lady role was in the 1978 film If Ever I See You Again. She played Jennifer Corly, the long lost love of the main character Bob Morrison. When she went in to audition for the role, she was an immediate favorite and she eventually got the part. She was also asked to wear her own glasses throughout the film, which she must have welcomed as she was blind as a bat without them. The filmed bombed at the box office, but Shelley was unfazed. She took it as a learning experience and moved forward.
