Shelley appeared on many ads for Ship'n Shore during her modeling career. Ship'n Shore was a women's clothing line that specialized in affordable women's blouses. It was one of the big brands in the mid-20th century and was known to produce garments of good quality. In 1969, Shelley appeared in their ad which had the tagline "The Look of Love by Ship'n Shore" and it featured blouses "in the captivating spirit of Juliet." The Juliet Shirt had billowing sleeves and was in whispering crepe. Shelley wore the version in heroine plaid and was nothing but lovely.

Shelley has been trained, since her days growing up in Connecticut, to prepare dinner for a crowd (she has two brothers and three sisters.) So dinner parties for her has never been a problem. But Shelley's true passion is baking. Her recipes have been featured in a few celebrity cookbooks and booklets. She has shared her recipes for Green Apple Pie, Apple Brown Betty and Baked Stuffed Pineapple. She has also appeared in a few cooking shows like Celebrity Chefs hosted by Robert Morley.

Shelley appeared on many catalogs throughout her Supermodel career. In 174, she appeared in the Christmas 1974 issue of the Jordan Marsh catalog. In the spread called "Tasty Toppings," she modeled the latest shirt/top fashion for the modern woman. Dubbed as a smashing piece revved up for action days and dreamy nights, she modeled a navy-colored long-sleeved shirt printed with white polka dots. It buttoned in front and on the cuffs. Designed by Ellen Belles, it came in navy, green and red. White trousers and a pair of chic sunglasses finished her look. As always, Shelley looked smashing.

Love Boat Episode A

Shelley appeared in the another Aaron Spelling hit series during her year as one of Charlie's Angels. She was a guest star on the 3rd season episode of The Love Boat called "Dumb Luck/Tres Amigos/Hey, Jealous Lover" which was initially aired on March 15, 1980. She played nuclear physicist and professor Carol Ketay, Julie's friend, who couldn't get a date because she was just too brainy. Julie told Carol that her brains intimidated most men and advised her to dumb herself down a bit for the cruise. After giving Carol a makeover, they went ahead with Julie's plan and Carol found a steady date in Chris (played by Kevin Tighe). But just before the cruise was about to end, Chris breaks up with Carol because he thinks she's too dumb. So Julie tells Carol to show Chris how brainy she really was and the two end up happily in each others arms.

"Dumb Luck/Tres Amigos/Hey, Jealous Lover," 1980

The role of Professor Carol Ketay fit Shelley to a T and she played her exceptionally well. She was also drop dead gorgeous and the outfits she wore were Supermodel glamorous and timeless. She was at the height of her Angel fame when the episode came out and her performance in it is one of the most memorable of that Love Boat season - she was hilarious. In fact, Shelley came in at no. 7 on the list of the "Best Guest Stars on The Love Boat" as listed by ranker.com in 2014. (It's a mystery why people at the time kept saying she couldn't act.) Jayne Meadows, James Gregory, Kevin Tighe and child star Ronnie Scribner were also in the episode. You can watch Shelley's performance as the episode has been included in The Love Boat Season Three Volume 2 DVD set and The Love Boat Seasons 1-3 DVD set, released 2017 and 2020 respectively.

Shelley appeared on the pages of Carefree Patterns From McCall's for January 1972. The booklet featured the latest fashion patterns for the holiday season at the time. Shelley appeared on several spreads throughout the booklet. In one spread, she wore pattern number 3865. It was a smock-style above-the-knee length dress with a rounded neckline, a slit on the chest and long sleeves. Underneath it, she wore a long-sleeved turtleneck sweater. Gold earring and a gold bracelet finished her look. And Shelley looked ready for an evening of holiday fun.

Acting Triumphs

Shelley was determined to make the most of the good opportunities that came her way after she left Charlie's Angels in 1980. She immediately worked on the Jack Heifner play Vanities with Meredith Baxter Birney and Annette O'Toole. It was aired as part of the HBO series Standing Room Only in 1981. She got great reviews for her efforts. Then, Shelley landed a role in the Martin Scorsese film The King of Comedy which had Robert De Niro and Jerry Lewis as lead stars. "I couldn't work because I read for The King of Comedy and got the part," she said, "The picture was delayed and I couldn't take a chance of doing anything else." Her gamble payed off. Not only did she receive glowing reviews for her performance in it, the film - although not a hit when it was released - has slowly gained a following and is now considered one of Scorsese's finest work.

Shelley appeared on many spreads and catalogs for Simplicity. The Simplicity Pattern Company is the leading manufacturer of sewing patterns and sewing pattern guides which are distributed throughout the world. They have been manufacturing sewing patterns since 1927 and have allowed fashionistas on a budget and sewing aficionados to create clothes in a reliable manner. Aside from patterns and pattern guides, they've come out with pamphlets, books, booklets, magazines and pattern packages.

Shelley appeared on the cover and on spreads for the Simplicity Home Catalog Spring 1973 issue. On the cover, she wore Simplicity Pattern 5504. Dubbed "Designer Fashion," it was a classy two-piece outfit perfect for daywear. The suit-style top had a front button closing, notched collar, short set-in sleeves with turn-back cuffs and back vents. The pleated skirt had a side zipper and waistband. Pale-colored and plaid linens were used to create her outfit. A matching cloche hat, a set of white pearl necklaces and a white bangle finished her look. And Shelley looked spectator spectacular.
