Simplicity Fashion News was a monthly pamphlet Simplicity came out with to showcase their latest patterns. The Simplicity Pattern Company had been manufacturing sewing patterns since 1927 and had allowed fashionistas on a budget and sewing aficionados to create clothes in a reliable manner. Shelley appeared on the pages of Simplicity Fashion News July 1972 issue. She appeared in the spread called "Sew Tops That Top Them All" which featured tops that were perfect for that summer season. She wore pattern no. 5078, a striped pullover misses' top that was designed for knit fabrics and just perfect for summer. It was an off-the-shoulder top with long raglan sleeves, shoulder straps and elastic casing at the upper edge of the front and back. the cuffs and lower band were of ribbed banding. Shelley looked summer-ready and summer-fresh. (For more, check out: Tops That Top Them All)
