I absolutely love this ad Shelley did for Napier in the '70s. Although she did others, in this "Napier is Glossier" ad, she is absolutely breathtaking and no doubt, classy. The photo of Shelley, the layout, everything came together perfectly. It's such an arresting ad.

The Bandy Way

Revlon Charlie Girl Shelley Hack gets "The Bandy" makeup "treatment" in 1978. Way Bandy was one of the best known and highest paid makeup artists in the world and often worked with photographer Francesco Scavullo. His clients included Cher, Elizabeth Taylor, Cheryl Tiegs, Catherine Deneuve, Iman, Diana Ross, Farrah Fawcett, Raquel Welch and many more. His work was emulated by the late and equally great Kevyn Aucoin. Until today, makeup artists still refer to Bandy as a great source of inspiration.

Charlie Forever and Ever

I couldn’t help it. The Charlie Forever fever got to me. I decided to make another version of this Charlie perfume ad (bogus, of course.) Here’s our Forever Charlie Girl once again on the streets of New York looking fab and, what else, wearing our fictitious Charlie Forever. Ah, wish it were true. Oh, well.
