Shelley with Leonard Goldberg and Aaron Spelling
Shelley joined the cast of the phenomenal hit Charlie's Angels in 1979. She was chosen by the show's executive producers Leonard Goldberg and Aaron Spelling, because they wanted to bring a different kind of Angel into the fold. They wanted a more glamorous, a more WASPy kid of Angel in the team; and Shelley fit the bill perfectly. Aside from that, she looked great with Jaclyn Smith and Cheryl Ladd; plus, she got along fine with them. In fact, Jackie and Cheryl had a say in the choice of the new Angel and they definitely liked Shelley a lot.
