Shelley in an ad spread for Celanese Contemporary Fibers, 1965
One of Shelley's first ad spreads came out during her first year of modeling, in 1965, for Celanese Contemporary Fibers. With the theme "how to dress for your boyfriend", she wore fashions that was sure to please any young lady's main man (so retro). To please foreign diplomat Dan, Shelley donned an evening look by Jovi's that had a new slant neckline for the holidays that year. She modeled a sleeveless white top with lace and satin detailing on the neckline over a mocha-colored long skirt with a modest slit on the side. Matching pumps finished her look. She also sported a beehive hairdo which was very popular and chic in the 1960s. And Shelley looked like the perfect arm candy for any foreign diplomat.
