Shelley's recipe for Apple Brown Betty, 1980
In the late '70s, Shelley bought a farm in upstate New York and renovated it herself. There, she smoked fish; she grew vegetables, flowers, herbs and roots; she pressed her own cider; she made her own preservatives jams, jellies and chutneys; and she baked her own bread and pies, a joy to her. She was and is fond of baking apple pies and had shared her recipe for baking Apple Brown Betty in 1980, a great recipe to use for the holidays.
