Let's take a break from the Cutter to Houston pilot episode, a commercial break that is; and look into one of Shelley's Charlie perfume commercials. Shelley first became famous for being THE Charlie perfume Girl. There were others before her, but it was Shelley who captured the imagination of many worldwide. A few months after she began endorsing the brand, it became the no. 1 scent in the entire world. Shelley was (and is) the quintessential Charlie Girl - gorgeous, sexy, young as well as vibrant and confident. She was, and actually still is, an inspiration to many worldwide.

Shelley appeared in many Charlie perfume commercials. In 1981, she appeared in their Springtime in Charlie Country ad campaign. It featured the brand's latest collection of cosmetics for the spring of 1981. The whole collection - colors, packaging and mood - was based on a painting created especially for the brand by American artist LeRoy Neiman. Everything from the makeup kits to the perfume bottles themselves were decorated with his art. Shelley, of course, was gorgeous in the commercial.
