In 1983, Shelley played opposite George Segal in her second TV movie Trackdown: Finding the Goodbar Killer. The movie was based on fact and was about the investigation on the brutal murder of a young school teacher during the Christmas season in New York in the 1970s. George Segal played John Grafton, the police officer in charge of investigating the murder. Shelley played Logan Gay, a co-teacher and close friend of the victim who eventually becomes Segal's love interest. Shelley was finally getting positive reviews for her acting performances and had numerous projects during that year.Eventually, George and Shelley would work together again - in 1992, in the feature film Me Myself and I.
