Shelley appeared on many issues of what was known as the Seven Sisters group of magazines. The Seven Sisters magazines were Woman's Day, Redbook, McCall's, Ladies' Home Journal, Good Housekeeping, Family Circle and Better Homes and Gardens. They all catered to married women with children rather than single working women. The magazines featured homemaking and crafts, food and nutrition, health and fitness, beauty and fashion advice and articles. Shelley appeared in the October 1973 issue of Woman's Day magazine, in a spread called "Making the Most of Quality Classics." It featured classic wardrobe pieces that could be worn in a couple of different ways. Shelley wore a basic black coat dress by Rena Rowan for Jones New York over a little black slip dress by Cinandre Lingerie. She finished her look with a black hose and a pair of black wedge platform sandals with ankle straps. She accessorized her look with a pair of gold button earrings, a pearl necklace, a pearl bracelet and pearl-embellished bar pin at the waist of her coat dress. And Shelley looked chic and classic.
