Shelley's Charlie Girl persona boosted the sales of Charlie to dizzying heights because everyone wanted to be as vibrant and as confident and as beautiful as she was in the commercials. Her image catapulted Charlie and turned it into one of the best-selling brands in the world EVER; and in turn, the brand catapulted her to Supermodel status in the modeling business. 1979, the year she became a Charlie's Angel, was the year when some of the most glamorous Charlie ads came out. One of them was the "Let's dance" Charlie ad where Shelley was photographed striding her long-legged stride in a fabulous disco outfit, complete with metallic belt and strappy high-heeled sandals, wind-blown curly locks and that effervescent smile.
