Shelley did a lot of modeling in the 1970s. She graduated (earned her degree in history from Smith College) in 1970 and decided to sign on full-time with her modeling agency Ford Models Inc. She appeared in many magazine spreads and ads including one JCPenney ad for velvety-looking jackets for everyday. Shelley was young, fresh and vibrant, the ideal young lady of the era. She rocked the coat she modeled.
