Shelley appeared in many ad during her Supermodel days. She appeared in several ads for Jacobson's which was a regional department store chain that focused on  high-end apparel, fine jewelry and home furnishings. It was known for personalized customer, fashion shows as well as its posh atmosphere. In 1977, Shelley appeared in their ad which featured an outfit by American fashion designer Adele Simpson. She wore an original by the designer made up of a ruffle-collared paisley-print blouse with long sleeves under a tweed woman's suit with contrasting buttons and piping details around the skirt waist. Gold button earrings finished her look. And Shelley looked every inch a sophisticate.

Charlie's 5th Girl

When Shelley became the 5th girl to join the cast of Charlies Angels in 1979, she was immediately swamped by the paparazzi. Every move she made became a news item. "I had press people crawling in my windows," she told E! in 2002. In fact, when she was filming scenes for the Angels episode "Angel Hunt" at Zuma Beach in Malibu, California, the paparazzi was all over the place. They were taking snaps of her and her co-stars Jaclyn Smith and Cheryl Ladd to no end. "I was totally unprepared for the press 'bonanza' that followed," she said in 2000 regarding what happened after she got her Angels wings.

Shelley appeared on many Sears catalog issues from the 1960s to the 1970s. In 1974, she appeared on many spreads throughout the Sears Wish Book for the 1974 Christmas Season catalog. In the spread called "Great Go-Togethers ...Featured in Heather-Toned Coral and Jade Green," Shelley modeled up-to-the-minute fashion separates that were designed to coordinate with one another and make it easy for any woman to look put together and be at her best.

Shelley wore the floral-printed shirt with long sleeves over a pair of solid-colored pants with flared legs, a fab look in itself. For another look, she switched to a plaid-printed pair of pants with flared legs and topped that outfit off with a sleeveless V-neck pullover and a long-sleeved cardigan, both in rib knit fabric, for those cooler days.

Shelley also wore the plain-colored pants with a crisp white shirt and crew-neck pullover with long sleeves. Then she wore the plaid-printed pants with the turtleneck pullover with long sleeves. Of, course, all the pieces she wore could be mixed and matched. Shelley looked fab in all combinations.

The Personal Touch

Shelley appeared on many fashion spreads throughout her modeling career, be it magazines, catalog and even books. In 1974, she appeared on a spread for the book The Personal Touch. The book was part of a set called The Art of Sewing and was by the editors of Time Life  Books - this particular book talked about personal style. In the chapter called "The Medium is the Material," Shelley modeled a "pretty little slip of a dress" that "takes on unexpected drama when rendered in a vivid pink and orange cotton print" fabric. Matching earrings finished her look. And Shelley looked spectacular in the spread.

Bridesmaids, Amigas Para Sempre

In 1989, Shelley along with Sela Ward, Brooke Adams and Stephanie Faracy starred in the telefilm Bridesmaids. It was about a group of friends who were reunited after a number of years at another friend's wedding. Audra Lindley and Jack Coleman was also in the cast. The movie was a staple on cable TV in the 1990s probably because it was a light comedy and was fun to watch. It was released in VHS format around the world for everyone else to enjoy. The Spanish-language version was titled Amigas Para Sempre.

Stripe It Rich

Shelley appeared on many ads for Vicky Vaughn, a line of clothes that were designed for young women. In 1971, she appeared in their ad called "Stripe-it-rich Knits for the Trevira Era" which featured garments made from red/white/navy or green/white/lilac striped printed fabric for the modern young lady. Shelley wore a sleeveless mini dress made from a red/white/navy striped print fabric. A matching red fringed belt, a red bangle and a pair of red pumps with white polka dots finished her look. Shelley looked fab in her boldly striped getup.

Cutter to Houston Pilot 21

Shelley's second foray into series TV was Cutter to Houston. It was about three young doctors from the world-famous Texas Medical Center in Houston who were recruited to run a small hospital in the fictional rural town of Cutter, Texas. Jim Metzler and Alec Baldwin played the other two doctors. Jim played idealistic GP Dr. Andy Fenton, who grew up in Cutter and is glad to be home. Alec played internist/ladies man Dr. Hal Wexler, who is getting through his probation, having been relegated to Cutter for being a little too fast and free with his prescriptions. And Shelley played Dr. Beth Gilbert, an ambitious surgeon on temporary assignment in Cutter and aspires to be a heart surgeon in Houston.

To continue, Frank Bickum has stormed into the operating room of Cutter Community Hospital were his wife Ginny is about to be have an emergency C-section due to complications in her pregnancy; and he has a gun in hand. Dr. Beth Gilbert is about to perform the operation with the assistance of Dr. Andy Fenton. Dr. Hal Wexler is trying to talk Frank out of what he's doing as Beth, Andy and the nurses look on. Frank doesn't trust Beth. Earlier, she had to make the tough decision of amputating Franks arm to save his life when he was pinned down at a recent oil rig accident. Frank doesn't want Beth to touch Ginny. Beth tries to reason with Frank and slightly flares up as she tries to explain how tough it was for her to do what she did and how much she didn't want to do it but had to due to the dangerous circumstance he was in.
