Shelley in a spread for Seventeen mag, November 1964
Shelley began modeling in late 1964. She appeared on the cover and pages of Glamour magazine November that year. That same month, she appeared on the cover of Seventeen magazine (with teen Supermodel Colleen Corby). Inside, she appeared in her first ever spread for Seventeen. It featured fashions for frolicking in the snow.

In the one called "Ski Sweets: A Way to Bloom", she modeled a V-neck sweater worn over a wool turtle-neck top and woll pants - all by Huddlespun, all in pink. She also modeled a nautical-inspired knitted sweater by Catalina, also in pink. And Shelley looked sensational both.
