Shelley's casting on Charlie's Angels was big news in 1979; it generated both good and bad news. Many were excited to see THE Charlie Girl running around, catching the bad guys for the Townsend Agency. Others were saying that she wasn't getting along with her new co-stars, incumbent Angels Jaclyn Smith and Cheryl Ladd. To set the record straight, Jaclyn and Cheryl asked the ABC network and Spelling-Goldberg Productions to throw a party for the TV Critics of America "to introduce them to Shelley and to put an end to the rumors.
