Single Bars Single Women

Shelley starred in the 1984 TV movie Single Bars Single Women. Paul Michael Glaser, Tony Danza, Christine Lahti and Mare Winningham starred in it as well. It was released on VHS format back in the 80s. Let's hope they release it on DVD  format too.

Most Photographed of '79

an article about the most photographed of '79

When Shelley was named the newest Charlie's Angel in 1979, the press went wild. Photographs of her appeared in virtually every publication, and the public couldn't get enough of the new star. According to one article, she ranked among one of the most photographed stars that year, along with her fellow Angels Jaclyn Smith, Cheryl Ladd and Farrah Fawcett. Jackie O seemed to have topped the list that year.

Monograms

Shelley appeared on the 1973 issue of Needlework and Crafts by Simplicity. On one spread, she modeled a monogrammed blouse that had been made personal with the addition of a flowery outline. With her on the spread was a cute little girl wearing a monogrammed blouse as well.

A Terrific Girl

Shelley and singer Sherisse Laurence (who hosted the show Circus) were subjects of a 1979 writeup called "Girls are Terrific" about successful girls on TV. Shelley had been named the newest Angel on Charlie's Angels and was being constantly written about and photographed.

Rib-Knit Body Suit

Shelley appeared on the 1975 fall/winter issue of the JCPenney catalog. In one spread, she modeled the rib-neck body suit in yellow. Body suits could be worn over shirts, pants and even leotards. And Shelley looked just so sunny in hers.

Reversible Wrap Dress

DVF on Vogue, 1976

Shelley appeared in a spread for Vogue about Diane von Fürstenberg in July of 1976. DVF was and is famous for introducing the wrap dress in 1974. It's a one-piece dress that is worn by wrapping one side of the dress over the other (giving the wearer a V-neckline) and securing it with an attached sash/belt. It usually came in a printed jersey fabric. The magazine ran an article about DVF and featured her latest designs - cowl-necked jumpsuits and dresses (in solid colors) and updated versions of her wrap dress (including a jumpsuit version.) Shelley wore DVF's reversible wrap dress, a printed jersey dress that can be worn with the "V-neckline" on the back.

Rare Clipping

Shelley was photographed by the paparazzi attending a pediatric Aids fundraiser in New York back in 1993 (according to one clipping.) In her arms, she proudly held her daughter, Devon Rose, who was just 2 and 1/2. Shelley seemed so happy and delighted with her very own little bundle of cuteness. Motherhood became her.
