Shelley appeared in many spreads throughout Sears Catalog for Summer 1975. In the spread that featured summer tops, skirts and pants, she modeled a shit and skirt ensemble. She wore The Printed Shirt - a crisp summery shirt that had a notched collar, short sleeves, front yoke shirring and a patch pocket - over The Back-Wrap Skirt - a crisp A-shaped skirt with a belt attached to the waistband that slipped through an eyelet and tied in front. Shelley modeled the blue and orange versions of the ensemble. She looked fresh and ready for those summer months of 1975.

Shelley was already a well-known Supermodel when she was cast as Charlie's newest Angel in 1979; but being cast in the hit TV series catapulted her star to even loftier heights. As soon as the announcement of her casting was made, she was hounded by the paparazzi; and everything from her beauty secrets to her romantic life was of interest. But Shelley was determined to keep her privacy. Plus, she wanted her family protected from all the press coverage she was getting.

Shelley appeared in many clothing ads throughout her modeling career. She appeared in many ads for Bobbie Brooks, a label that specialized in women's apparel, in the 1960s and '70s. One of the Bobbie Brooks ads she was in had the tagline "Let The Sun Shine In", and featured summer outfits in nautical red, white and blue hues. Shelley looked sensational in the ad.

Shelley's second foray into series TV was via Cutter to Houston in 1983. She starred as Dr. Beth Gilbert, an ambitious surgeon working in the small town of Cutter who wanted to do heart surgery in a big city hospital in Houston, Texas. Her costars were Jim Metzler as Dr. Andy Fenton, a GP who grew up in Cutter and was glad to be home; and Alec Baldwin as Dr. Hal Wexler, a ladies man internist on probation in Cutter for writing unnecessary prescriptions. The series had a short run, but was aired in Germany in 1988 as Die Texas-Klinik (The Texas Clinic) when Alec Baldwin was beginning to make a name for himself.

Shelley appeared in numerous spreads throughout the Montgomery Ward 1968 Spring and Summer catalog. In the spread called "Skimmy Plus! Sassy 3-Piece Sets in Avril Blend", she modeled a skimmy dress, bloomers and cap ensemble - perfect for the teens of the era. Her skimmy had a cowl neck and zipped up in the back. Her bloomers was elasticized at the waist and legs. Her cap was lined and elasticized at the back. It was a "razzle-dazzle" look that Shelley carried well.

More on the New Angels Reboot

Shelley became part of Angelmania in 1979 when she joined the cast of Charlie's Angels. She stayed in the series for a year before moving on (a year was already plenty for her she said). Kate Jackson, Farrah Fawcett, Jaclyn Smith, Cheryl Ladd, Shelley and Tanya Roberts (who took over from Shelley) all captured the imagination of viewers worldwide; and the series has since become an icon of pop culture. Aaron Spelling, one of the producers of the hit series, attempted to reboot it in 1988 with Angels 88 bringing in a new set of Angels (Karen Kopins, Claire Yarlett, Sandra Canning and Tea Leoni. Tea is currently the lead in the series Madam Secretary; and it's a must-see. Love it and love her). Production delays plagued Angels 88; and it was shelved before filming even began. Film versions of the the series came next with Charlie's Angels in 2000 and Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle in 2003. Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore, Lucy Liu and Demi Moore became the new Angels and Angelmanina was reignited. In 2011, the television series was revived. Now referred to as Charlie's Angels 2011, it starred Annie Ilonzeh, Rachael Taylor, Nadine Velazquez and Minka Kelly as the new Angels; but it didn't last a full season. Now another reboot is in the works and has been given, according to some sources, a June 2019 release date. Actress, director and producer Elizabeth Banks is at the helm, along with her husband Max Handelman. Let's hope they bring in some of the past Angels into this one.

Shelley appeared on many spreads throughout Seventeen magazine's December 1970 issue. In the spread called "Play a Cameo Role" which featured romantic lace and satin outfits that echoed the Victorian era, she modeled a white jacquard-print satin outfit made up of two parts - an ankle-length skirt and a V-neck long-sleeved top that buttoned up in front, both by Cottager. A matching choker and natural makeup was all that was needed to finish her look. And Shelley looked sweet and romantic in her Victorian-inspired ensemble.
