Shelley attended Liberty Hill Foundation's 14th Annual Upton Sinclair Awards in 1996. It was held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California, in May of that year. The Liberty Hill Foundation is a non-profit organization whose motto is "Change. Not charity". Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen were recipients that year.
