The spread called "For Long Lovely Evenings" featured separates that could switch partners. The jacket featured could be worn over a pair of pants or a matching skirt. Simplicity Pattern number 5198 was for an unlined jacket, skirts in two lengths and pants. Shelley wore the jacket and ankle-length skirt tandem. The top-stitched unlined jacket softly gathered to the waistband. It had a front button closing, a front band, forward shoulder seams, collar and long set-in sleeves that gathered to the armholes. The ankle-length skirt has top-stitched front pleats, a waistband and a back zipper closing. A tank top under her jacket, a matching belt and a pair of pumps finished her look. A flower pinned on her hair and brooches pinned on the jacket's collar accessorized her look. And Shelley looked young, chic and up-to-the-minute.
