In 1978, it was reported that Cubby Broccoli, producer of many James Bond films, talked to Shelley Hack about jumping from Charlie Girl to Bond Girl. Shelley was at the height of her Charlie Girl success, and Hollywood was taking notice. The film was Moonraker; and eventually, Shelley did test - for the role of Dr. Holly Goodhead. But a chance encounter on a plane between Lois Chiles and the film's director Lewis Gilbert ended with Chiles eventually winning the role. You see, he wanted her for another Bond film (The Spy Who Loved Me) two years earlier, but she turned it down.
So was Shelley sexy enough to play a Bond Girl?
You be the judge.
