A Charlie Summer

Shelley's popularity as THE Charlie Girl reached its all-time-high when she joined the cast of Charlie's Angels in 1979. As predicted by producer Aaron Spelling, the headline "The Charlie Girl Becomes A Charlie's Angel" generated so much publicity for the series that everyone was excited to see the beloved Charlie Girl fight crime alongside Jaclyn Smith and Cheryl Ladd. Shelley was so busy with Angels at the time that Revlon re-used some of her past shots for their ad campaign. A shot of her taken by Patrick Demarchelier was used in a magazine pullout advertisement for Charlie called "A Charlie Summer." It featured suggestions for wardrobe, makeup, nails and fragrance that women could wear for that summer season.
