Shelley was THE quintessential Charlie Girl and appeared in many, many ads for the brand. In 1981, she appeared in a newspaper ad for Charlie that offered the Charlie Bonus. Charlie box sets which had a Nutcracker scenario under the lid were promoted as bonus items and perfect gifts for that holiday season. One box set contained various Charlie fragrance forms (Charlie cologne sprays and Charlie touch-tip perfume), Charlie dusting powder and Charlie body silk. Another, which was called "Charlie's Color Adventures," contained Charlie eye shadows, blushers, lipsticks, lip gloss, mascara, nail color and applicator brushes. It was a bonus package that was only $9 for any $5 purchase or more from the Charlie Collection. The promo also raffled out tickets to the Hartford Ballet performance of the Nutcracker for December of that year to any lucky patron who registered. And Shelley, of course, appeared in the newspaper advertisement for this Charlie Bonus looking fabulous, festive and downright gorgeous.
