New Collection is a Perfume

Shelley was THE quintessential Charlie Girl and her phenomenal endorsement of the brand began in 1976. But prior to Charlie, Shelley had also endorsed other fragrances. She was a model in high demand and appeared in many other fragrance advertisements such as Hot Pants (Hot Pants, 1971), Chanel No. 5 (Chanel GirlChanel Girl Too), Braggi for men (Men's Cologne), Norell and Etherea (Pretty-As-A-PictureEtherea and Norell, 1974) as well as several Avon scents (Perfume Rollette).

In 1975, Shelley appeared in the French ad for Vu par Ted Lapidus (which translates to "Seen by Ted Lapidus," meaning the scent was approved by Mr. Lapidus himself). With the tagline "La nouvelle collection de Ted Lapidus est un parfum" (The new collection of Ted Lapidus is a perfume), the French designer announced the launch of his new fragrance. Ted Lapidus was a French fashion designer who started his own label in 1951 and initially became popular in France then later internationally - he dressed Twiggy and John Lennon, to name a few. He is regarded as the creator and pioneer of the unisex fashion look and is credited with introducing a military and safari look into haute couture. Shelley appeared in the ad for the designer's new fragrance in 1975 and was downright gorgeous in it.
