Shelley was one of the in-demand teen models in the 1960s. But she was still in school and prioritized her studies, so she modeled only during the summers (because, according to her, it beats waiting on tables). She appeared in Seventeen, Glamour, Ingenue and many other teen-oriented mags. When she finished school in 1970, she began modeling full-time and eventually became one of the Supermodels of the '70s.
