In 1981, she appeared in a newspaper ad for Charlie that had the tagline "With Charlie, Holidays Are Adventures." It was an ad promoting "Charlie's Color Adventures," a gift set containing a special collection of Charlie essentials that were perfect for traveling and getting through the busy holiday season. It contained 4 Charlie eye shadows, 2 Charlie blushers, 3 Charlie lipsticks, Charlie lip gloss, Charlie mascara, 2 Charlie nail enamels and applicator brushes. It was available for just $9.00 for any $5.00 purchase or more from the Charlie Collection. Also available was the Nutcracker Gift Collection, gift sets that had a Nutcracker scenario under the lid. They too were promoted as perfect gifts for that holiday season. And Shelley, of course, appeared in the newspaper ad looking fabulous, festive and downright gorgeous.
