Shelley was one of the Supermodels of the 1970s. Like her contemporaries, she was photographed wearing various fashion options for women, from affordable to designer brands. In 1976, she was photographed by renowned fashion photographer Bill King for Harper's Bazaar magazine wearing a gown by American fashion designer Albert Capraro. Capraro, crowned the "Prince of Fashion" by the press, was known for his dresses and evening gowns, as well as his use of only American fabrics, which impressed First Lady Betty Ford who then became one of his most loyal clients (which included socialites and celebrities). In the spread, Shelley wore a strapless evening gown by Albert Capraro that had a printed, diaphanous fabric draped over the entire outfit. Matching necklaces and bangles finished her look. And Shelley looked every inch a Supermodel.
