Late-Day Drama

a closeup of Shelley from a Penneys Spring and Summer 1967 spread

Shelley appeared on many catalogs during her tenure as Supermodel. In 1967, 20-year-old Shelley appeared on the pages of Penneys Spring and Summer catalog. In the spread called "Late-Day Drama," Shelley modeled a dress that was perfect for those not-so-formal events that were held late in the day. The dramatic, elegant and romantic look was in vogue.

Shelley wore a dramatic, elegant and romantic all-lace shift dress that was unadorned except for a satin back bow of the same color as the dress. It was lined with the same color as well and had a back zipper. It came in a black version and a white version - Shelley wore both. The sleeveless shift had a high neckline in front that scooped in the back.

For The Crowning Touch, a whimsical light organza bow-with-floral tassels head piece was a recommended finishing touch for the lace dress. It came in white, green and hot pink versions - Shelley wore the white version. A Petite Bag of silk with a gold-tone metal handle was another recommended finishing touch. It came in pink, turquoise, pale green and black, which Shelley modeled. A pair of matching gloves gave the outfit a touch of class. And in both lace dress versions, Shelley looked faaaaaab.
