Shelley, THE Charlie Girl, 1978
When Shelley joined the cast of Charlie's Angels, she was hounded by the paparazzi. Everyone wanted to get to know THE Charlie Girl who was now Charlie's newest Angel. And when they couldn't get to her, they went to her mom. Shelley's mom, Patricia, was a former model herself. She was a Conover Cover Girl, one of the models in the Conover Model Agency, the most famous one in the 1940s and 50s (Suzy Parker was a former Conover Girl). Of her daughter, Pat said, "Shelley is a vital, alive girl. That's why she liked doing those Charlie commercials so much. They showed her vitality." She said she wasn't surprised when Shelley became a famous model. Shelley was always beautiful and bright and destined to be a star.
