When Shelley joined the cast of Charlie's Angels, tongues immediately began wagging. So much was said about her not being Jaclyn Smith and Cheryl Ladd's choice for the role. So much was said about her not getting along with Jackie and Cheryl. So much was said about her not being beautiful enough or sexy enough to become a Charlie's Angel.

But Shelley was chosen by Jackie and Cheryl. They felt she was someone they could work with. And Shelley did get along with Jackie and Cheryl. They even threw her a birthday party on the set when her birthday came up. And, if you think about it, she didn't come in to fill the part vacated by the most beautiful or the sexiest of the Angels. Kate Jackson wasn't considered the most beautiful or the sexiest of the Angels, so why did Shelley have to be all that. She was supposed to be smart like Kate's Sabrina Duncan and she filled that part perfectly.
