Shelley appeared on the cover as well as in many spreads throughout Simplicity The Fashion Magazine for Women Fall/Winter 1972. In the spread under "Fashion Focus 7" called "Make A Really Pretty Dress", she modeled Simplicity Pattern 5074, a two piece dress in two lengths for knits. The spread encouraged young women to experiment with fashion and break fashion rules - like wearing a dress that's like a sweater and a skirt. And Shelley looked sensational in it.
