First Leading Lady Role

Shelley and Joseph Brooks in a still for If Ever I See You Again, 1978

Shelley's very first leading lady role was in the 1978 film If Ever I See You Again. She played Jennifer Corly, the love interest of Bob Morrison, played by Joseph Brooks. Shelley didn't really have to audition for it. When she came in to read, Joe (who was also the film's producer and director) hired her on the spot. He felt she had the right look for the role and was enamored by her beauty. She was after all THE Charlie Girl at the time - a Supermodel at the very top of the modeling business.
